The first step for removing a urine stain from a suit is soaking. Fill a container large enough to fit the affected area with cold water and add a few drops of detergent. Gently submerge the stained part of the suit into the container and allow it to soak for 10-20 minutes. If the fabric is delicate, you may need to reduce duration of the soak.
Once the suit has finished soaking in the detergent solution, apply a pre-treater solution to the stain. Use a soft brush to gently massage the pre-treater onto the stain, working it into the fabric. Allow the solution to sit on the stain for 10-15 minutes before moving on to next step.
To rinse the pre-treater off the stain, fill a clean container with cold water and submerge the affected area. Gently rub the fabric with your fingers to help remove any remaining dirt and cleaner. Once it's fully rinsed, transfer the suit to the washing machine and wash on the gentlest cycle possible. As an extra precaution, use a color-safe detergent.
When the suit is done washing, move it to a dryer at the lowest heat setting. Check the suit frequently and be sure to remove it as soon as it's done. If any traces of stain remain, use a stain remover pen or crayon to lightly touch up the area.
To prevent future stains, always be sure to provide adequate ventilation and avoid wearing suit in excessively warm weather. If applicable, wear an undershirt underneath your suit and consider using a stain guard to help protect the fabric.
