What You'll Need

  • Clean white cotton rag
  • Mild detergent
  • White vinegar

Step 1: Blot the Stain Quickly

As soon as you notice a urine stain on your silk organza, grab a clean white cotton rag and blot area as quickly as possible. This will help to absorb as much of the urine as possible. Do not rub the area as this can spread the stain further.

Step 2: Pre-Treat the Stain

Mix one tablespoon of mild detergent with two cups of warm water. Dip the cleaning rag into solution and gently dab the stained area. Allow the solution to sit on stain for several minutes before rinsing with cold water. Do not rub or scrub the fabric as this will damage the delicate silk fibers.

Step 3: Neutralize the Urine

Mix one tablespoon of white vinegar with two cups of warm water. Soak a clean rag in the solution and dab the affected area. This will help to neutralize the acids in the urine that cause stain to set. Allow vinegar solution to sit on the fabric for several minutes before rinsing with cold water.

Step 4: Dry the Fabric

Once the urine stain has been removed, place the fabric on a clean flat surface and allow it to air dry. Do not put the fabric in the dryer as this may cause the stain to set. Once the fabric has dried, you should have a clean and fresh silk organza fabric!
