Step 1: Blot the Stain with a Paper Towel

The first step is to absorb any remaining liquid on the surface of fabric. Place a paper towel directly over stain and press down gently. Do not scrub the fabric to avoid further damage. Then remove the paper towel and discard it.

Step 2: Pretreat Stain with a Pre-Soaked Pad or Towel

Mix one tablespoon of mild detergent with two cups of lukewarm water in a bowl. Soak a small pad or cloth in mixture and dab the affected area. Do this gently and keep blotting stain until you can no longer see it. Be careful to not rub the fabric too hard as this may cause damage.

Step 3: Rinse Fabric With Water

Rinse fabric with lukewarm water. This will help to remove any remaining soap from the stained area.

Step 4: Spot Treat the Stain by Handwashing

Mix a solution of one teaspoon of mild detergent with two cups of lukewarm water. Soak the stained area in this solution for 15 minutes. Gently massage the fabric in order to help remove the stain. Then rinse fabric with water. Do not use any other soaking agents or bleaches as these may cause the fabric to discolor.

Step 5: Dry the Fabric

Finally, lay fabric flat on a clean towel and let it air dry. Once the fabric is completely dry, the stain should be removed.
