Depending on the severity of the stain and the type of fabric, you’ll need to follow a few steps to get the job done. Here’s a four-step guide to removing urine stains from Ralph Lauren fabrics:

1. Gather your supplies

Before you begin, make sure you have the supplies you’ll need for the job. These are:

  • A clean cloth or paper towel
  • Mild detergent like Woolite, Ivory or Dawn
  • White vinegar
  • Hydrogen peroxide
  • Spray bottle

2. Blot the stain

Using your clean cloth or paper towel start by blotting the stained area. As tempting as it may be, do not rub or scrub the fabric. This will only spread stain and make it more difficult to remove. Instead, gently blot the stain with the cloth or paper towel and continue until most of liquid has been absorbed.

3. Pretreat with detergent

Once most of the liquid has been removed, it’s time to pretreat the stain. To do this, mix half a teaspoon of mild detergent with one cup of warm water and pour the mixture into a spray bottle. Spray the solution directly onto the stain and let it sit for 10 minutes.

4. Rinse and repeat

Once the 10 minutes are up, take your clean cloth or paper towel and start to blot fabric again. If necessary, repeat steps 3 and 4 until the stain is completely gone. Once the stain is fully removed, use a damp cloth or paper towel to rinse the area.

To protect your Ralph Lauren fabric after a urine stain removal treatment, consider using a stain guard product. This will help to protect against future stains and spills.
