What You'll Need
- Baking soda
- Vinegar
- Warm water
- Sponge
- Towel
Step 1: Blot Stain
Take a dry towel and press down lightly on the stain. This will help absorb some of the liquid and make it easier to tackle the stain.
Step 2: Create a Baking Soda Paste
Mix together equal parts of baking soda and water to create a paste that can be applied to stained fabrics. Apply the paste directly onto stain, taking care to rub it in gently. Let the paste sit for 15 minutes.
Step 3: Rinse the Stain
After 15 minutes have passed, rinse the stained area with warm water. This should help loosen the stain and make it easier to remove.
Step 4: Apply Vinegar Solution
Mix together one part white vinegar and two parts warm water. Use a sponge to apply the solution to the stain, gently rubbing it in to ensure the solution is properly saturating the fabric. Let the solution sit for another 15 minutes.
Step 5: Rinse Again
After 15 minutes have passed, rinse the stained area with warm water once more.
Step 6: Wash in Laundry Machine
Place the raincoat in the washing machine. Select the delicate cycle setting and use a mild detergent.
Step 7: Hang or Lay Flat to Dry
Once the washing cycle is complete, hang the raincoat to dry or lay it flat on a towel.
Step 8: Rejoice in Your Stain-free Raincoat!
Voila! Your raincoat is good as new and ready for any weather.
