What You'll Need

  • Paper towels/absorbent cloth
  • Clean white cloth
  • Enzyme cleaner
  • Washing machine

Step 1: Blot the Stain

As soon as possible after the accident happens, use paper towels or an absorbent cloth to blot up as much of the urine as possible. Don't scrub or rub at the stain; simply dab at it gently with the paper towels or cloth to soak up as much moisture as possible.

Step 2: Apply Enzyme Cleaner

Spray enzyme cleaner directly onto the stain. When shopping for an enzyme cleaner, opt for one designed specifically for pet stains, as these will be more effective. Allow cleaner to sit for 20-30 minutes, then re-blot the area with a clean cloth to remove the stain.

Step 3: Wash the Pullover

Once urine stain is gone, place the pullover into washing machine. Use cold water and regular liquid laundry detergent. Place the garment into the dryer and set it to the lowest setting available. Follow any additional care instructions on the label.
