Urine stains are no fun. Whether it’s your toddler’s accidents or your pet’s messes, urine stains can be difficult to remove. But don’t worry – with a few household ingredients and some elbow grease, it is possible to get rid of those pesky stains from your pants.

How to Remove Urine Stains from Pants

  1. Start by submerging the stained area in cold water and rinse until area is thoroughly wet. If the stain has already dried, soak it in cold water for 20 minutes.
  2. Mix 1 teaspoon of enzyme laundry detergent and one tablespoon of white vinegar with 2 cups of cold water. Apply the mixture directly onto the urine stain and let it sit for 5 minutes.
  3. Using a cloth, sponge, or paper towel, gently rub the stain in a circular motion, being sure not to rub too hard.
  4. Rinse the area with cold water and blot dry with a clean cloth or paper towel.
  5. To finish up, machine wash the pants on the highest temperature setting and add an extra rinse cycle.

If you follow these steps, you can get rid of stubborn urine stains and your pants should look good as new. Just remember that it’s important to act fast —the longer the urine sits, the harder it will be to get out.
