The first thing to do is to try and absorb as much of the urine as possible right away. This will help minimize the stain and make it easier to clean. To do this, take a paper towel and dab the stain gently, applying slight pressure.
If stain is still visible after blotting, pre-treat it with some household ammonia. Pour some ammonia on the affected area, using enough to saturate the area but not flooding it. Leave for about five minutes and then blot with a towel again.
Once the above two steps have been completed, next step is to use laundry detergent to treat the stain. Make sure to choose a detergent that is safe for nylon fabrics, as some detergents can damage the material. Dilute a small amount of detergent in lukewarm water and soak the stained area for 20-30 minutes. Then rinse thoroughly and let dry.
Vinegar is another great tool in battle against urine stains. Dilute some vinegar in water, preferably in a 1:1 ratio. Use a cloth to dab the diluted solution onto the stained spot. The vinegar should help break down stain and make it easier to remove when you wash it.
Finally, the last step is to actually wash the item or fabric. Depending on the item, you may need to use a gentle cycle and cold water in order to preserve the fabric. Once the wash cycle has finished, let the item air dry, or use a tumble dryer - but check label for drying instructions first!
