Things You'll Need

  • Warm water
  • Mild dishwashing soap
  • White vinegar
  • Clean dry cloths

Step 1: Blot Immediately

As soon as the stain is noticed, act fast and blot the liquid up with a clean, dry cloth. Don't rub or scrub the spot as this will cause the urine to spread further into material.

Step 2: Rinse the Stained Area

In a bucket, mix warm water with a few drops of mild dishwashing soap and gently stir. Dip a clean cloth into the soapy water and wring out. Now use the cloth to rinse stained area. Keep blotting with a dry clean cloth until no more urine is being absorbed.

Step 3: Neutralize Odor

Mix one cup of white vinegar with two cups of water and slowly pour the mixture over stain. Again, use a clean cloth to dab the area and absorb the solution. Use a clean area of the cloth each time and don’t over saturate the fabric. Let the solution sit for 10 minutes and then blot up any remaining moisture.

Step 4: Allow to Dry

To finish, hang the mohair fabric in a well ventilated area, preferably outside in the sunlight, and allow to air dry. Do not use a hair dryer or heat of any kind and do not place in the dryer as this may set the stain.

Conclusion

Urine stains on mohair fabric can be cleaned quickly and easily when followed correctly. Always blot up stain immediately and rinse with a mild solution before applying a vinegar mixture to neutralize the odor. When the area is dry, your mohair fabric should look good as new!
