Step 1: Blotting the Stain

The first step to removing a urine stain is to blot it immediately with paper towels or a white towel. Blot out as much of the liquid as possible and try not to rub as this could spread stain further.

Step 2: Making Cleaning Solution

To start cleaning the mattress, mix a cleaning solution made up of 1/4 cup of laundry detergent, 1/2 cup of white vinegar, and 1 Quart of warm water. Make sure all of the ingredients are completely mixed together before using.

Step 3: Applying Cleaning Solution

Put some of the cleaning solution onto a clean cloth and gently blot the stained area. Make sure to keep the cloth moving over the stained area to avoid soaking it too much and spreading the urine further. Blot the area until the stain is gone.

Step 4: Rinse the Area and Let Dry

Once the stain is removed, rinse the area with clean water using a clean cloth and let it dry completely. You may need to use a hairdryer to speed up the drying process. Make sure the area is completely dry before putting anything back on the mattress.
