Step 1: Choose a Cleaning Agent

The key to success when it comes to removing urine stains is selecting the right cleaning product. White vinegar is a go-to option in many households, as it quickly breaks down alkaline stains like urine. Before you get started, check the care instructions on your Levi's – if they don’t recommend it, stick to cold water. Other options include a pre-wash stain remover, such as a laundry detergent specifically designed for tough stains. Oxygen bleach is also an effective cleaning agent for urine stains.

Step 2: Apply the Cleaning Solution

Once you’ve chosen your cleaning solution, it’s time to apply it. For white vinegar, mix two parts cold water to one part vinegar and use a sponge to work the solution into the fabric. If you’ve opted for a pre-wash product, use a brush to lightly apply it to the stained area. For oxygen bleach, follow the manufacturer’s instructions on how to mix and apply it.

Step 3: Wash Levi's

Once you’ve applied the cleaning solution, it’s time to put your Levi's into the washing machine. Use the warmest water setting that you can, as heat helps to break down the stain. Additionally, add an extra-large scoop of your favorite detergent and half a cup of baking soda. After the cycle has finished, transfer the jeans to the dryer, but stop the cycle as soon as they’re dry. This will help to prevent the stain from setting in.
