What You Need

  • Cold water
  • Mild detergent
  • White vinegar
  • Baking soda
  • A clean cloth or sponge

Steps to Remove Urine Stains from Jackets

  1. Rinse the stain with cold water as soon as possible.
  2. Mix one tablespoon of mild detergent with two cups of cold water.
  3. Dampen a clean cloth or sponge with the mixture and begin to blot the stain.
  4. Do not rub the stain, as this will cause it to spread. Blotting will help to lift the stain.
  5. Continue blotting until the stain is gone.
  6. If the stain remains, mix one tablespoon of white vinegar with one cup of cold water.
  7. Dampen a clean cloth or sponge with the mixture and begin to blot the stain.
  8. Continue blotting until the stain is gone.
  9. If the stain still remains, sprinkle baking soda onto the area.
  10. Let the baking soda sit for an hour before brushing off the excess.
  11. Rinse the area with cold water, then blot until dry.

Tips for Success

  • Do not use hot water as this will set the stain.
  • Do not rub the stain as this will cause the stain to spread.
  • Do not use bleach or other strong chemicals, as this may cause discoloration on the fabric.
