What You Will Need

  • Hydrogen peroxide
  • Baking soda
  • Dish soap
  • White vinegar
  • A soft-bristled brush or sponge

Steps to Follow:

  1. Soak any excess urine from fabric using a cloth or paper towels.
  2. Mix 1/4 cup of hydrogen peroxide, 1 teaspoon of baking soda, and 1 teaspoon of dish soap in a bowl.
  3. Stir the mixture until foamy and then use a soft-bristled brush or sponge to apply it to the affected area.
  4. Let the mixture sit for 10 minutes before rinsing it off with cold water.
  5. If the stain persists, create a solution of 1 tablespoon of white vinegar and two cups of water. Use a cloth to dab solution onto affected area.
  6. Let solution sit for a few minutes before rinsing it off with cold water.
  7. Air dry the fabric or use a low heat tumble dryer.

Things to Consider:

  • Always test the cleaning solution on a small area of fabric before using it on stained area, to make sure it won’t cause discoloration.
  • Be sure not to rub the fabric or brush it harshly, as this could cause the stain to spread out and become harder to remove.
  • Enzymatic cleaners can help break down the proteins found in urine and make stain easier to remove, so consider investing in one.
