Materials Needed

  • Clean white cloths
  • Mild detergent or soap
  • Vinegar
  • Baking soda

Instructions

  1. As soon as possible, dab the stain with a damp cloth to prevent the stain from penetrating deeper into the fabric fibers.
  2. Mix a solution of equal parts warm water and mild detergent or soap. Apply this solution to stain and allow to sit for 5 minutes.
  3. Blot the stain with a clean white cloth, being careful not to rub the stain as this may cause it to spread.
  4. If necessary, mix a solution of 1 part white vinegar and 2 parts warm water. Apply this to the stain and let it sit for 10 minutes.
  5. Blot the stain again with a clean cloth. Repeat if necessary.
  6. If the stain is still visible, apply baking soda directly to stain and let it dry overnight.
  7. Vacuum or brush away the baking soda before laundering the item as normal.
