Chinos are typically made from cotton, polyester or a combination of polyester and spandex. This means that the fabric can be treated differently depending on type of cloth. Here are the steps you need to take to clean any chinos featuring a urine stain:

  1. Rinse: Rinse the area as soon as possible with cold water as urine can set quickly into natural fabrics.
  2. Pre-treat: Create a solution by combining a teaspoon of liquid detergent, a teaspoon of white vinegar and two cups of lukewarm water. Apply the solution to area using a soft cloth or a cotton ball and let it soak for about 10 minutes.
  3. Wash: Once the pre-treatment is finished, wash item in warm water according to the washing instructions on the label. For dry-clean only garments, visit your local dry-cleaner.
  4. Odor removal: Out of the washing machine pour 1/4 cup of baking soda into same load of laundry and run it through a rinse cycle. This should help in removing the odor.
  5. Air dry: Let the garment air dry or just use a low heat setting on the tumble dryer.

If you are still having trouble with the urine stain, it may be time to call a professional cleaner who specializes in removing urine stains. With the right technique and solutions, they should be able to restore your chinos to their original condition.
