What You Will Need

  • Laundry detergent or enzyme cleaner
  • White vinegar
  • Absorbent cloth
  • Baking soda

Instructions

  1. As soon as possible, remove urine stain from the chambray fabric. Use a dry absorbent cloth to blot the area.
  2. Mix half a teaspoon of liquid laundry detergent or enzyme cleaner with a cup of cold water. Dip a washcloth in the solution and gently scrub the stain.
  3. If there is still a stain left on the fabric, mix one tablespoon of white vinegar with one cup of warm water. Soak a small cloth in this mixture and apply it on the stain. Leave for 10-15 minutes and then rinse it off with cold water.
  4. Cover the stain with baking soda and leave it for an hour. Vacuum up the baking soda and the stain should be gone.
  5. If the stain persists, apply a bit of liquid detergent directly on the spot, rub it in and then gently scrub. Rinse it off with cold water and the stain should be gone.

Tips for Cleaning Urine From Chambray

  • It is important to act quickly when dealing with urine stain; the longer you wait, the harder it may be to remove the stain.
  • Test the cleaning product on an inconspicuous area of the fabric before using it on the actual urine stain.
  • If the stain is still present after the cleaning process is complete, try using a commercial stain remover.
  • Always air dry the fabric after cleaning.
