If you're tired of lingering odors from urine stains on your broomstick lace, don't despair. With the right cleaning supplies and a little patience, you can get your lace looking like brand new.

Step 1: Blotting the Stain

The first step in cleaning a urine stain from broomstick lace is to remove any excess liquid by blotting with a clean, white cloth. Blot the area using a pressing and lifting motion, so as not to spread stain. Repeat until no more liquid can be removed. Do not scrub the area as this may cause damage and will make the stain worse.

Step 2: Pretreating with Detergent

Once any excess liquid has been removed, pretreat the stained area with detergent. Choose a mild detergent, such as a baby shampoo, and mix it with water. Alternatively, you can use a commercial spot remover, following the instructions on package. Apply the solution to the stain using a soft-bristled brush, taking care not to rub too hard. Let the detergent sit on the stain for at least 15 minutes before moving onto next step.

Step 3: Washing the Broomstick Lace

Once pretreated, the lace should be washed either by hand or in washing machine. For best results, turn your garment inside out before laundering. When using a washing machine, set it to a gentle cycle and use a detergent that is specifically designed for delicate fabrics. Wash the item on its own and avoid using fabric softener or bleach. Hang it up to air dry, do not put it in dryer.

Step 4: Removing Tough Stains

If the stain is still visible after laundering, you can try a stronger cleaner. Fill a bowl with warm water and add 1/4 cup of white vinegar and 1/4 cup of baking soda. Soak the stained area for 10 to 15 minutes and then rinse. If the stain remains, you can repeat the process, but do not leave the solution on the fabric for longer than 15 minutes.

Step 5: Checking the Results

Once you have finished cleaning the stained area, check to make sure the stain has been removed. If stain is still visible, you may need to repeat the steps above or take your garment to a professional cleaner.
