Things You'll Need
- Clean cloth or paper towels
- Laundry detergent
- Baking soda
- White vinegar
- OxiClean or other oxygen-based stain remover
Steps to Remove Urine Stains
- Blot up any excess urine on the fabric with a clean cloth or paper towels.
- Wet a cloth with cold water and use it to scrub the area, being careful not to rub the stain too much as this can cause it to spread. Blot the area again with a paper towel to soak up any additional liquid.
- Mix a solution of laundry detergent and cold water, then use it to lightly scrub the area. Allow solution to sit for 5 minutes before blotting it up with a towel.
- Mix 1/4 cup baking soda and 2 tablespoons white vinegar together to create a paste. Spread it on the stain and allow it to sit for 30 minutes. Wipe away the paste with a damp cloth.
- If the stain is still present, try using an oxygen-based cleaner such as OxiClean. Follow the manufacturer’s instructions and rinse the fabric thoroughly with cold water. If the stain persists, repeat until it has been successfully removed.
Tips
- When cleaning the fabric, always use cold water — hot water can set the stain and make it harder to remove.
- Never use bleach on brocade fabric as it can discolor it.
