Step 1: Blot Stain

The first step in removing a urine stain is to blot the area with a clean, white cloth. This will help absorb some of the liquid and will prevent the stain from spreading any further. Be sure to blot carefully in order to avoid spreading the stain.

Step 2: Mix a Cleaning Solution

Once you’ve blotted up as much of urine as possible, mix a cleaning solution. Use a teaspoon of liquid detergent, a tablespoon of white vinegar, and two cups of warm water. Mix the ingredients together and make sure they dissolve into the water.

Step 3: Apply the Cleaning Solution

Once you’ve made your cleaning solution, apply it directly to the urine stain. Use a spray bottle if you have one on hand, or use a soft cloth to gently dab the cleaning solution onto the stain. Allow solution to penetrate stain for 10 minutes or so before moving on to the next step.

Step 4: Blot Again

Once the cleaning solution has had time to work, blot the area again with a clean, white cloth. This will help remove any remaining residue from the stain. Be sure to use gentle pressure, as rubbing too hard can cause more damage.

Step 5: Rinse and Dry

Finally, rinse the area with clean water and dry it thoroughly. Be sure to use a hair dryer set on low or air dry the item to prevent any additional staining. Repeat the above steps as needed until the stain is completely removed.
