The best way to remove a tree sap stain from Teneriffe lace is to freeze it. Place item in a sealed plastic bag and place it in the freezer overnight. This will cause the sap to become brittle and more easily removable.
Once the sap has hardened in the cold temperatures, you can use an old toothbrush or a butter knife to carefully pick away at sap. Make sure to do this gently so that you don’t damage the delicate fabric of lace.
Once the sap has been removed, you can then wash the Teneriffe lace as you normally would. Use a gentle detergent (such as Woolite or Tide’s Delicate cycle detergent) and make sure to follow the laundering instructions for the fabric. If there are any remaining stains, you can also use a pre-treatment product like Shout or Spray n Wash.
Once item has been washed, hang it up to air dry. Make sure that the item is completely dry before storing it away.
Removing tree sap stains from Teneriffe lace doesn’t have to be a difficult process. Following these steps should help you get your lace looking as good as new without damaging the fabric.
