Tree sap stains can be hard to remove, especially if they have been sitting for some time. However, there are a few things you can do to get rid of them. Here’s what you need to do:

  • Rubbing Alcohol: Begin by lightly dabbing stained area with rubbing alcohol. This will loosen the sap, making it easier to scrape off. Use a soft cloth or cotton swab.
  • Ice: Place an ice cube on the sap stain to help remove it. Leave it there for 10-15 minutes, then scrape off the sap with a knife. Be careful not to damage the fabric.
  • Baking Soda: Mix baking soda with water to form a paste. Apply the paste to the stain and let it sit for 30 minutes. Rub the paste off with a damp cloth.
  • Dish Soap: Apply a small amount of dish soap directly to the sap stain. Let it sit for 10-15 minutes, then use a scrub brush to scrub off sap.
  • Laundry Detergent: Dilute laundry detergent with water and apply to the sap stain. Rub soap into fabric and let it sit for 10-15 minutes. Rinse the fabric with warm water and allow it to air dry.

These methods should help you remove the sap from your sweater, but if the stain still persists, you may want to take the sweater to a professional cleaner who can use special solvents to treat the stained area.
