Step 1: Scrape off the Excess Bark

If you notice a tree sap stain on your suit, as soon as possible, use a spoon or a butter knife to scrape off any excess pieces of bark or sap from the affected area. This will prevent sap from being absorbed further into the fabric.

Step 2: Soak the Suit for 15 Minutes

Fill a basin with cold water and add a few drops of mild detergent. Soak the suit in solution for about 15 minutes. This will help release the sap from the fabric, and make it easier to remove the stain.

Step 3: Apply a Citrus-based Solvent

After soaking, take suit out of the basin and lay it flat on a clean surface. Use a cotton ball or cloth soaked in a citrus-based solvent (such as orange oil) to dab and rub area gently. Make sure you do not rub too hard, as this might damage the fibers of the fabric.

Step 4: Rinse with Cold Water

Rinse the suit with cold water and dab dry with a clean cloth or paper towel. Repeat steps two and three if the stain still persists. If the suite is made of delicate material, take it to the dry cleaners for professional cleaning.

Step 5: Wash the Suit

Once tree sap stain has been removed, you can wash suit as usual. Washing suit with a detergent suitable for delicate fabrics will help restore fabric’s original color and luster.
