Tree sap is a thick, sticky substance that comes from trees and can easily get onto clothing. Once it's there, it can be difficult to get rid of. But with a few simple steps, you can easily remove tree sap stains from your stockings.
Instructions for Removing Tree Sap Stains from Stockings
- First, prepare a mixture of equal parts white vinegar and water. Place the mixture in a spray bottle.
- Next, spray the tree sap stain with the vinegar solution. Allow solution to sit on the stain for several minutes.
- After the solution has had a chance to soak into the stain, use a clean cloth or sponge to gently scrub the stain with a little bit of dish soap and warm water. Be sure not to rub too hard as this can cause the stain to spread.
- Rinse area with clean water and repeat the process if necessary. If the stain persists, try using a commercial spot cleaner.
- Once stain is gone, allow the stockings to air dry before wearing them again.
Tips for Preventing Tree Sap Stains in the Future
- Avoid getting too close to trees when wearing stockings.
- Wash stockings immediately after wearing in order to remove any tree sap that might have come into contact with them.
- Store stockings away from other items that may contain tree sap.
