Step 1: Scrape off Sap with a Dull Knife or Credit Card

If there’s only a small amount of sap on your sneakers, you can use a dull knife or a credit card to gently scrape it away. Take care to not damage the material of your shoes.

Step 2: Wipe Off the Area with a Dry Towel

Once you’ve scraped off as much sap as you could, you should use a dry towel to wipe off the area.

Step 3: Apply Rubbing Alcohol to the Spot

Gently blot the sap stain with a cloth soaked in rubbing alcohol. Don’t rub or scrub, as this might spread stain further. Continue to dab the area until the sap is gone.

Step 4: Wash the Spot with Mild Detergent and Warm Water

After you have applied the rubbing alcohol, you can wash the spot with a mild detergent and warm water. Be sure to rinse the detergent off thoroughly.

Step 5: Apply White Vinegar Solution to the Spot

Mix one part white vinegar with two parts warm water and apply this solution to the spot. This will help remove any remaining sap residue.

Step 6: Rinse the Shoe with Clean, Warm Water

After applying the vinegar solution, rinse the area with clean, warm water.

Step 7: Let Your Shoes Air Dry

Once the sap spot is completely gone, dry your sneakers with a clean towel and then let them air dry.
