Removing Unwanted Tree Sap Stains from Sleep Pants

If you have a tree near your home or perhaps even in your backyard, it probably happens more often than not that tree sap gets on your clothing when you sit or play near it. Whether it’s on your shirt, shorts, or even sleep pants, this sticky substance can be difficult to remove. But don’t worry, there are ways to deal with these tree sap stains.

What You'll Need

  • Rubbing alcohol
  • Laundry detergent
  • White vinegar
  • Bucket of warm water
  • Soft-bristle scrub brush
  • Cloth or paper towels

Instructions

  1. Fill a bucket with warm water.
  2. Add one teaspoon of laundry detergent and one tablespoon of white vinegar to the water. Mix it together.
  3. Soak the sleep pants for about 10 minutes in solution.
  4. Using a soft-bristle scrub brush, gently scrub the affected area to remove tree sap.
  5. Rinse off sleep pants with cold water once finished.
  6. If the tree sap is still present, soak the sleep pants in rubbing alcohol for 15 minutes.
  7. Rinse the sleep pants with cold water once again and repeat the steps if needed.
  8. Once the tree sap has been removed, hang sleep pants up to air dry or put them in the dryer on low heat.
