What You'll Need

  • Rubbing Alcohol
  • Soft Cloth
  • A Toothbrush (optional)

Step 1: Soften the Sap

First, take some rubbing alcohol and pour or spray it directly onto the sap stain. Let it sit for about 30 seconds to 1 minute. This will help to soften the sap so that it’s easier to remove later.

Step 2: Remove the Sap

Once the sap has softened, take a soft cloth and gently dab or rub it in circles until the sap is removed. You may need to use a toothbrush to help scrub off any stubborn sap.

Step 3: Rinse and Dry

After the sap has been removed, rinse off the shoes with cold water. Make sure to wipe away any remaining rubbing alcohol residue. Then, air-dry the shoes completely before wearing them again.

Additional Tips

  • If the sap is stubborn and won’t come off easily, try applying a bit of Vaseline or another petroleum-based product to help loosen the sap.
  • Allow the shoes to air-dry completely before putting them on. This will help ensure that they don’t get moldy or smelly.
