Tree sap can cause tricky stains on your favorite shirts if you are not careful. The sticky substance can be difficult to get rid of if it is not dealt with in the right way, but there is no need to worry. Here, we provide some helpful tips and tricks that you can use to help take tree sap out of your wardrobe.

How to Clean Tree Sap Stains

  1. The first step is to scrape off the visible sap with a knife or putty knife. Make sure to scrape gently; if the sap is scraped too harshly, it could damage the fabric of the shirt.
  2. Saturate a cloth with rubbing alcohol and dab at the stain until the alcohol breaks up and removes remaining sap. Rubbing alcohol is a good solvent for tree sap, as it helps break up sap so it can be more easily rinsed away.
  3. If there is still some residue left over, try using a paste of equal parts baking soda and water. Spread the paste over the stain and let it dry, then rinse away the dried paste and any remaining sap.
  4. Repeat these steps until the sap is completely removed.
  5. Once the stain has been removed, wash shirt as normal. Be sure to read the care label before throwing it in the washing machine.

By following these simple steps, you will have a tree sap-free shirt in no time!
