If you’ve got tree sap on your sarong, the first thing you should do is to scrape away any dried sap with a dull knife or spoon. Be sure to use only a gentle scraping motion as to not damage fabric. If the sap is fresh, you might be able to wipe it off with a cloth or paper towel. Be sure to work from the outside of the stain towards the center so as to not spread the stain.

The next step is to create a homemade cleaning solution. Gently warm a cup of white vinegar and mix it with a tablespoon of dish soap and a teaspoon of baking soda. Mix these ingredients together in a bowl until they form a paste. Spread the paste over the tree sap stain and let it sit for 15 minutes.

After 15 minutes, rinse the paste off with cool water. If stain is completely gone, wash your sarong with mild detergent and hang to dry. If some of the tree sap remains, repeat this process until the stain is gone. For stubborn stains, try soaking the sarong in cold water with a capful of white vinegar for a few hours before trying the paste method again.

Once the stain is gone, it’s important to wash the sarong as soon as possible to ensure the stain doesn’t “set”. Pre-treat the area with a dab of liquid or powder detergent before washing. You may also want to add a cup of white vinegar to wash cycle to help set the color of your sarong and prevent fading.

With these tips, you can easily remove tree sap stains from your sarong and get it looking like new. Just remember to act quickly and treat the stain gently for the best results!
