Cleaning tree sap stains off of robes is not as difficult as it may seem. If the stain is still wet, gently scrape away any excess sap with a dull knife or spoon. Make sure to take care not to rip or damage the fabric. If the sap has hardened, you can use an electric hair dryer set to low heat to melt the sap and make it easier to remove.
Once you have removed the excess sap, mix 1 tablespoon of detergent and 1 cup of warm water in a bowl. Dip a sponge into the mixture and dab the affected area until the stain begins to lift. Rinse the robe in cold water to remove any remaining soap residue.
If the tree sap stain persists, try soaking the robe in a solution of 4 liters of water and 1/2 cup of white vinegar for 30 minutes. After soaking, rinse the robe in cold water and allow it to air dry. If necessary, repeat the process until the stain is removed.
For stubborn stains, you can make a paste of baking soda and water and apply it to the stained area. Gently rub the paste into the fabric and let it sit for 15 minutes before rinsing it off with cool water. Once the stain is gone, wash the robe normally according to the instructions on the tag.
Now that you know how to clean tree sap stains from robes, you can rescue your favorite pieces of clothing without needing to purchase a replacement.
