To get started, gather the following supplies: rubbing alcohol, white vinegar, a toothbrush, cotton balls, paper towels, and a soft cloth. These items should be easy to find around house or in any local grocery or drug store.
Before getting started, always test for colorfastness before applying any of the cleaning supplies. To do this, mix together a small amount of rubbing alcohol and white vinegar and dab it onto an inconspicuous area of the shoes. If color is not affected, you can proceed with cleaning the tree sap stains.
Grab a cotton ball and dip it into the rubbing alcohol. Gently dab or rub stained area with the cotton ball. Continue until the tree sap is loosened and easily removed with the toothbrush. It may take several applications of the rubbing alcohol to completely remove the stain.
Once the tree sap has been removed, it's time to clean the stained area with vinegar. Mix together one part white vinegar and two parts water. Dip a soft cloth into the mixture and gently scrub the stained area. Follow up with a damp cloth and paper towels to soak up any remaining moisture.
After cleaning, allow the Reebok shoes to air dry completely before wearing them. This will help protect the shoes from any additional damage.
Tree sap stains can be a nuisance on shoes, but they don't have to be permanent. With right supplies and a little bit of elbow grease, you can effectively remove tree sap stains from your Reebok shoes without damaging them.
