Begin by scraping off as much sap as possible with a blunt knife. Start in the center of stained area and gently scrape away at the sap, moving out towards edges. Be careful not to press down too hard or you may damage the fabric.
Next, apply rubbing alcohol to the stained area. You may need to do this several times to completely remove all traces of the sap. Allow the rubbing alcohol to sit on the stain for a few minutes before wiping it off with a clean cloth.
Once you’ve removed as much sap as you can using the rubbing alcohol, rinse with soapy water. This will help to remove any remaining residue from rayon material. To do this, mix a few drops of mild detergent with cold water in a bucket. Dunk the affected area into bucket and give it a gentle swirl for a few seconds. Then, remove the fabric from the bucket and rinse thoroughly with cold water.
Finally, put rayon fabric in the washing machine and run it on a gentle cycle. Once the cycle is complete, hang your garments up to air dry. It’s important to check the fabric after it has been washed to make sure the sap has been completely removed.
By following these tips, you can remove tree sap from rayon easily and effectively. However, if stain persists, it’s best to seek professional help as soon as possible to avoid further damaging the fabric.
