What You Need:

  • Dish soap
  • Cloth
  • Soft-bristled brush
  • Rubbing alcohol
  • Baking soda
  • Vinegar
  • Olive oil

Step by Step guide:

  1. Apply dish soap. Start by applying a small amount of dish soap directly onto the area where the tree sap is located. Gently scrub the stained area with a soft cloth or a soft-bristled brush.
  2. Rinse with water. Rinse the area with warm water to remove any remaining soap residue.
  3. Treat with rubbing alcohol. If stain persists, dampen a cloth or cotton ball with rubbing alcohol and dab the affected area. Let the rubbing alcohol sit for a few minutes before wiping away with a soft cloth.
  4. Create a baking soda paste. Combine baking soda and water to create a paste and apply to the stained area. Scrub gently with a brush and then rinse with water.
  5. Spot treat with vinegar. Vinegar can be used to spot treat any remaining stains. Dab a cloth or cotton ball in white vinegar and dab onto the stained area. Let sit for several minutes before rinsing with warm water.
  6. Condition with olive oil. To keep your pumps looking and feeling their best, condition the area with a few drops of olive oil. Buff the oil into the leather or fabric with a clean cloth.
