What You'll Need:

  • White Vinegar
  • Small Bowl
  • Sponge or Soft Cloth
  • Liquid Detergent
  • Laundry Detergent

Step 1: Soak the Stain in White Vinegar

The first step is to soak the stained area in white vinegar for a few minutes. Pour a few tablespoons of white vinegar into a small bowl and then dip the stained area into the vinegar. Allow the area to soak for 10 minutes before continuing to the next step.

Step 2: Scrub the Stain with a Sponge or Cloth

Once the area has soaked for 10 minutes, take a sponge or soft cloth and scrub the stained area. Scrub in a circular motion until the stain is removed. If stain persists, repeat this step until it is gone.

Step 3: Wash with Liquid Detergent

Add a teaspoon of liquid detergent to the stained area and rub it in. Let the detergent sit for a few minutes before washing in the washing machine. Use a gentle cycle and cold water for best results. Do not use hot water as it can set stain.

Step 4: Dry in Direct Sunlight

Once overalls have been washed, hang them outdoors in direct sunlight to dry. Sunlight will naturally whiten and brighten the fabric and can help to reduce any lingering odors. Once the overalls have fully dried, they should be good to go!

Conclusion

Tree sap stains can be very tricky to remove, but by following these steps, you should be able to get the unwanted stains out of your overalls with relative ease. Good luck and happy cleaning!
