Step 1: Remove Excess Sap

If possible, remove as much of the sap as you can. You can try gently scraping it away with a dull knife. Be careful not to rub too hard as this could damage the fabric of the shoe. You may also be able to blot or wipe away some of the sap with a damp cloth.

Step 2: Try Rubbing Alcohol

Since tree sap is oily and sticky, rubbing alcohol can be used to help loosen and dissolve it. Dip a cotton ball into rubbing alcohol and gently rub it over sap-stained area of shoe. Again, make sure that you do not apply too much pressure, as this can cause damage to the material. Allow the rubbing alcohol to sit for a few minutes, then wipe it away with a damp cloth.

Step 3: Use Nail Polish Remover

If the rubbing alcohol does not work, you can try using nail polish remover. Again, dip a cotton ball into nail polish remover and carefully apply it to the sap-stained area. Give the remover a few moments to work, then wipe it away with a damp cloth. If the sap doesn’t come out after the first application, you can try reapplying the nail polish remover.

Step 4: Apply Stain Remover

If all else fails, you can try using a stain remover on the sap-stained area of the shoe. Make sure to choose a product that is designed specifically for the type of material that your shoes are made of (e.g. leather, canvas, etc.). Read the instructions on the label to ensure that you use the product correctly.

Step 5: Wash The Shoes

Once the sap is gone, you should wash your shoes with a mild soap to remove any residue from the stain remover or nail polish remover. Allow them to air dry completely before wearing them again.

Conclusion

Tree sap stains can be difficult to remove from your shoes, but with the right tools and techniques, you can get those pesky sap stains out of your New Balance shoes without damaging them. With these easy steps, your shoes will look good as new in no time!
