Tree sap can be a tricky stain to remove. If not treated properly, it can cause discoloration or permanent stains on your beloved Nautica item. To ensure that it is properly removed, here are 4 steps to help you tackle tree sap stains with ease:
First, use a dull knife or spoon to carefully scrape away any excess sap that may still be present on fabric. Be careful to not tear or damage the fabric while doing this. Once all of the excess sap has been removed, move on to step 2.
After the excess sap has been scraped away, it’s time to apply a stain remover. Choose one that is specifically made for removing sap stains, and follow the directions on the package for proper application. Let the remover sit for about 20 minutes before moving on to the next step.
Once the remover has had time to work its magic, it’s time to wash and rinse the item. Use warm water and a mild detergent to thoroughly clean the fabric. Make sure to rinse it off completely before moving on to the final step.
The last thing to do is to let your item air dry. Never put a Nautica item in the dryer as this can damage fabric. Just hang it up in a cool, dry spot and let it air dry. Once fully dry, your Nautica item will be free of pesky tree sap stains!
