Tree sap stains can be stubborn and hard to remove, but all hope is not lost! With a bit of elbow grease and some household products, you can have your macramé looking like new in no time.

Instructions for Removing Tree Sap Stains from Macramé

  1. Mix equal parts white vinegar and water in a spray bottle. Spray the stained area and let the mixture sit for 15 minutes.
  2. Using a clean cloth or sponge, gently rub the soapy mixture over the stained area.
  3. Rinse area with clean, warm water.
  4. If the stain remains, add a few drops of liquid dish soap to the vinegar and water solution in the spray bottle. Repeat steps 1–3.
  5. If the sap stain persists, try using rubbing alcohol on the affected area with a clean cloth.

It is important to remember to use gentle motions when scrubbing the macramé to avoid damaging material. If the stain still remains, repeat the steps until it is removed. It may take several attempts before the sap stain is completely gone.

Tips for Prevention

  • When bringing plants inside, be sure to check for any sap that could have collected on the leaves.
  • Use a plastic tablecloth underneath potted plants to protect against any accidental spills.
  • Keep macramé pieces away from exposed windowsills or other areas where sap could drip onto them.

With these simple tips, you’ll be able to keep your macramé looking its best and free of any pesky sap stains!
