What You’ll Need

  • Soft cloth
  • Dish soap
  • White vinegar
  • Oxalic acid
  • Bucket or container
  • Spray bottle

Step 1 - Dab the Stain

Take a soft cloth and gently dab stained area. This will help to absorb some of the sap. Make sure not to use too much pressure as this could end up pushing the sap deeper into fabric.

Step 2 - Soak the Stain

Mix one part dish soap with two partswhite vinegar in a bucket or container and stir until combined. Next, submerge the stained area in the solution and let sit for 10-15 minutes. Afterward, rinse the clothing and inspect the area. If the stain is still present, apply oxalic acid directly on the spot.

Step 3 - Apply Oxalic Acid

Mix equal parts oxalic acid and water in a spray bottle. Shake well and spray the mixture onto the stained area. Let sit for an additional 10-15 minutes. Then, rinse the solution off with clean water and inspect for any remaining stains. If needed, repeat the process until the tree sap has been completely removed.

Conclusion

Removing tree sap from Lacoste clothing doesn’t have to be a difficult task. All you need is the right cleaning products and a few simple steps. Follow these guidelines and you’ll be able to restore your Lacoste clothing to its original condition in no time!
