If the sap residue is fresh and still wet, use a dull knife or spoon to scrape off as much sap as possible. Once you’ve removed as much as you can, use a pre-treatment solution on stain (such as dish soap diluted in warm water). Rub the solution onto spot of the stain with a soft cloth or brush, then rinse thoroughly.
Fill a bucket or sink with warm water and a few drops of laundry detergent. Submerge the joggers in the water and let them soak for 30 minutes. This will help loosen sap residues and make it easier to remove.
Use a soft-bristled brush to gently scrub stain. For extra cleaning power, you can add a few drops of liquid detergent directly to the stained area. Keep scrubbing until all sap is gone.
Rinse the joggers with cool water to remove all detergent residue. Once the joggers are rinsed and free of sap, place them on a towel and use another towel to pat dry. Hang up the joggers to air dry.
If any sap residue remains after the steps above, apply a commercial stain remover to the area and let it sit for a few minutes before rinsing with cool water.
With these steps, you can easily and safely remove tree sap stains from your joggers!
