Get Rid of Tree Sap Stains on Flannel Quickly and Easily!
Tree sap is an unfortunate part of nature, but it can make a mess of your favorite flannel shirt if you're not careful. The sticky sap can make your shirt hard to wear and difficult to clean. But worry not if this happens to you, as there are a few easy methods for lifting tree sap out of flannel fabric.

What You Will Need
- A bucket or sink
- Dish soap
- White vinegar
- A soft toothbrush
- An old toothbrush (optional)
- White absorbent cloths
Instructions
- If the stain is still fresh, rinse fabric with cold running water.
- Fill a bucket or sink with enough warm water to cover the stained area.
- Add a tablespoon of dish soap and a half-cup of vinegar to the water and mix well.
- Soak the stained portion of the flannel in the solution for 30 minutes.
- Remove the flannel from the solution and check level of stain.
- If stain persists, use a soft toothbrush to gently scrub the spot. If the stain persists, use an old toothbrush. It has stiffer bristles and will help lift the sap more easily.
- Rinse flannel with cold running water.
- Dab any remaining stains with white absorbent cloths.
- Allow the flannel to air dry.
Tips & Warnings
- Be gentle while scrubbing and avoid using hot water as it may set stain.
- Do a spot test before trying this method to make sure that it won’t damage the fabric.
