The first thing you should do when you have a tree sap stain on your corduroy is to gently remove as much of the dried sap as possible. A soft cloth or toothbrush can be used to carefully scrape off the sap while taking care not to damage the corduroy fabric. If any pieces remain stuck in the fabric, you can use a seam ripper to carefully cut away the fibers that are still attached to the tree sap.

Once you’ve removed as much of the sap as you can, you can move onto the next step: cleaning the stain. Start by making a mild solution of equal parts white vinegar and cold water. Soak a clean cloth in mixture and gently dab the stain. If the stain is particularly stubborn, you can also use a slightly dampened cotton swab or toothbrush to lightly scrub away at stain. Be sure not to press too hard, as this could damage the fabric.

Once you’ve removed as much of stain as possible, rinse the area with cold water and pat dry with a clean towel. To finish up, launder the garment as you normally would, using regular detergent, and then hang up to dry. With a little patience and these easy steps, you should be able to remove tree sap stains from corduroy with ease!
