Removing tree sap from Converse shoes requires some patience, but with the right approach, it can be done. Start by freezing the affected area with an ice pack or freezer bag full of ice cubes. This will help harden the sap, making it easier to scrape off. Another way to apply cold is by rubbing the sap with a cotton ball or rag soaked in rubbing alcohol. Once the sap has been frozen or softened, use a butter knife or rubber spatula to carefully scrape the sap away from fabric.

If there are still traces of sap left behind, try spot-cleaning the area with a mild detergent and warm water. Use a soft cloth to gently scrub the sap before rinsing with clean water. Allow shoe to air dry completely. You may also try dabbing the sap with nail polish remover or lemon juice, followed by a rinse with mild detergent.

When dealing with tougher stains, you may need to use a special product designed to remove stuck-on tree sap. Products like Goo Gone and Oil Eater are effective at removing odors and greasy stains, and can safely be used on fabrics like canvas. As a last resort, you can take your Converse shoes to a professional cleaner. They should be able to remove the sap without damaging fabric.
