Chantilly lace is a type of fine lace that was first produced in early 1600s in Chantilly, France. It’s characterized by intricate patterns of intertwined stitches and has a delicately beautiful look. Unfortunately, that delicate beauty can be easily spoiled by one thing: tree sap stains.

Tree sap can get onto your Chantilly lace garments in a variety of ways. You might discover it on your clothes after a picnic in the park, or an accidental brush with a leafy tree branch while walking down the street. No matter how it gets there, sap stains can be difficult to remove.

Remove Sap Stains from Chantilly Lace With These Easy Tips and Tricks

When dealing with tree sap stains on your Chantilly lace garment, always start by blotting area with a damp cloth to remove as much sap as possible.

Next, fill a sink with cold water and add a few drops of mild detergent (such as Woolite). Gently rub the stain with your fingers, then rinse the garment in cold water. If the stain persists, repeat this process until the stain is gone.

If the detergent and water technique isn’t successful, you can also try using rubbing alcohol. First, dilute the rubbing alcohol by combining it with equal parts water. Then, apply mixture to the stain with a cotton ball, dabbing gently. When the stain has lightened, repeat with a fresh cotton ball and more rubbing alcohol. Rinse the garment thoroughly when you’re finished, and hang it to dry.

Finally, you can use a commercial stain remover specifically designed for fabrics with delicate fibers, such as Chantilly lace. Be sure to follow instructions on product’s label carefully, and always test the stain remover in an inconspicuous area of the garment before applying it to the stained area.

Keep Your Chantilly Lace Looking as Good as New

With these simple tips and tricks, you can keep your Chantilly lace garments looking as good as new. And don’t forget to take preventative measures to avoid sap stains in future – such as keeping your clothing away from trees and branches when outdoors.
