Tree sap can cause a serious mess on fabrics like brocade, leaving ugly stains that seem impossible to remove. However, with right cleaning process, you can eliminate those stains and restore your fabric to its former glory. Here's how:
- Start by blotting stain with a paper towel or cloth to remove as much of the sap as possible.
- Mix together one tablespoon of dish-washing soap, one tablespoon of white vinegar, and two cups of warm water.
- Using a clean, white cloth, gently dab the stain with the soapy mixture. Do not rub the stain, as this can cause it to spread or become more deeply embedded into fabric.
- Once the stain has been treated, rinse the fabric thoroughly with clean water.
- If the stain persists, mix together one part rubbing alcohol and one part water. Apply the solution to the stain and blot it dry with a cloth.
- Repeat process two or three times if necessary.
- Finally, dab the fabric with a small amount of laundry detergent on a damp cloth, then rinse with cool water.
By following these steps, you should be able to get rid of any tree sap stains on your brocade fabric. Be sure to allow fabric to air dry before using it again.
