Removing Tree Sap Stains - Step by Step
- Lay towel or washcloth on a flat surface. Place the stained shoe bottom side down on the towel.
- Soak a paper towel in rubbing alcohol and dab at tree sap stain.
- Let the rubbing alcohol sit on tree sap for a few minutes.
- Scrub at the tree sap with a soft-bristled brush or toothbrush. If sap is particularly stubborn, repeat steps 2 and 3.
- If the rubbing alcohol is unsuccessful at removing the tree sap, try olive oil. Use a paper towel to pour a small amount of olive oil onto the sap stain. Gently scrub the stain using a soft-bristled brush or toothbrush.
- Sprinkle baking soda over sap stain and gently scrub at it with the brush.
- If tree sap stain persists, try conventional stain remover.
- Once you have removed the stain, launder the garment as usual.
