Tree sap is gooey and sticky, so it’s no surprise it ends up on our clothing, especially belts. To efficiently remove tree sap stains from your belt, there are several solutions you can use.
Start by laying a cloth over the affected area. Take your iron and set it to low-temperature setting. Place the hot iron on top of the cloth, allowing the heat to penetrate through to the sap stain. The heat will help soften the sap, which should make it easier to remove. Once the sap is softened, spray some fabric softener onto the sap and gently rub it into the fabric of belt. Use a damp cloth to wipe away the remaining stain.
This method works best when the sap has a waxy consistency. Start by placing the belt on a flat surface. Dip a cotton ball in rubbing alcohol and dab it onto the sap stain. Keep dabbing alcohol on until it starts to dissolve the sap. Use a damp cloth to wipe away any excess sap. Then, use clean water and a cloth to wash away the remaining residue.
This is the most basic solution for removing tree sap from your belt. Begin by running warm water over the affected area. Following this, lather liquid soap directly onto sap stain. Massage the soap into fabric of belt and allow it to set for about 10 minutes. After that, scrub the sap with a soft-bristle brush. Rinse the area with warm water, then air dry the belt or use a blow dryer on the cool setting to dry it completely.
Tree sap can be a pain to remove from clothes, but with these simple solutions, you’ll have that tree sap stain gone in no time from your belt. If you’ve tried all of the above methods and the sap still won’t budge, it may be time to get a new belt.
