The first step is to soak your barrettes in warm, soapy water for about an hour.
A few drops of a mild liquid dish detergent can help dissolve the sap from your barrettes. If soaking doesn't work, try using a gentle scrubbing brush or an old toothbrush to loosen and remove any stubborn areas of sap.
After soaking, take a soft cloth and wipe away any remaining traces of sap from the barrettes. Make sure to use a cloth that won't scratch the surface of the barrettes – an old t-shirt or a baby wipe works well.
Finish up by polishing your barrettes with a soft cloth. This will help restore the shine to the metal and make your barrettes look as good as new!
