Tree sap can be messy to deal with, but if some gets on your bandana, don't throw it out just yet! Here are four simple steps to help you get rid of that pesky tree sap stain.

Step 1: Allow the Sap to Harden

The first step in getting sap out of your bandana is to let it harden. The sap needs to harden so that it can be chipped away from the fabric more easily. Once it has hardened, avoid touching it as much as possible, as this can spread the sap further into the fabric and make the stain worse.

Step 2: Scrape Away the Sap

Once sap has hardened, you can begin scraping it away from the bandana. Take a butter knife or a spoon, and carefully scrape away at the stain. Be sure not to press too hard as you may damage the fabric. Keep scraping until all of sap has been removed.

Step 3: Pre-Treat the Stained Area

Now that the sap is gone, it's time to pre-treat the stained area. You can do this by dabbing a small amount of liquid laundry detergent onto the stain, or using a stain remover stick. Let the cleaner sit for 5 minutes before washing.

Step 4: Wash and Dry Bandana

Finally, it's time to wash and dry the bandana. Place it in the washing machine and follow the care instructions for the bandana. Dry the bandana in the sun or a clothes drying machine and you're good to go!
