It isn't always easy to get toothpaste stains out of Venetian lace, but it can be done. To begin, start by soaking the item in cold water for about 20 minutes. This will help soften any caked-on residue. After that, prepare a solution of lukewarm water and mild soap, and mix it until it creates a nice lather. Dip a soft brush into the soapy mixture and lightly scrub stained area. Be gentle and don’t use too much pressure or you could damage the lace.
If stain persists, mix one teaspoon of baking soda into a cup of warm water, and use a clean cloth to dab the mixture onto affected areas. Rinse the lace as you go. It's important to avoid rubbing or scrubbing too hard at the stain, as it can damage the delicate fabric.
If the stain still won't come out, try making a mix of equal parts distilled white vinegar and warm water. Dip a soft brush into this solution and gently scrub the stained area. Keep in mind that vinegar has a strong smell, so place the item on a towel and open some windows if possible. After the stain is gone, rinse lace with cold water. Finally, hang it up to dry and voila! Your lovely Venetian lace is good as new.
