Start by rinsing stained area with cold water; this will help to remove some of the toothpaste residue right away. Use a soft bristled brush or even an old toothbrush to gently scrub at stained area.
Create a soapy solution using dish soap and a bit of warm water. Dip toothbrush into the solution and apply it to the stain. Gently rub at the area and then blot it with a clean cloth.
Once the stain has been loosened, use regular laundry detergent and wash garment as usual. Take extra care to not dry the item until you are certain that the stain is gone—drying heat can often set the stain and make it much harder to remove.
