Step 1: Remove Excess Toothpaste

Using a clean paper towel, gently dab the toothpaste area until all excess toothpaste is removed. Do not rub or scrub, as this can damage the fabric.

Step 2: Pre-Treat

If the stain is still visible after the initial dabbing, it’s time for pre-treatment. Spray the stained area with a stain remover and allow it to sit for a few minutes. Once again, use a clean paper towel to dab the area.

Step 3: Heat

Using an iron, hold the iron over the stained area. Leave it in that position for a few minutes and then take away. This should loosen the stain and help lift it out of the fabric. As always, use a clean paper towel to dab the area.

Step 4: Laundry

Then it’s time to wash the item in your laundry machine. Use the warmest water safe for that fabric, followed by the detergent suitable for it. You may also use a stain treatment product if you wish. After the cycle has finished, let the item air dry or tumble dry on low.

Outcome

After going through the above steps your tuxedo should be free from its pesky toothpaste stain and looking as good as new!
